Giving Back With LaundryCares In Baltimore

FullSizeRender_3.jpgOn July 28, employees from Eastern Funding and other members of the laundry industry participated as volunteers in a free laundry day event at Laundry City in Baltimore. Almost 250 people from the local community got the chance to do their laundry for free.

This event is part of a community giveback effort by the LaundryCares Foundation to provide free laundry services and education events to communities across the country. The foundation was created by the Coin Laundry Association.

Participants were entered in raffles that featured prizes including a flat screen TV, bikes, a Keurig and other great prizes. Gift bags filled with donated goodies were given to all the participants.

Eastern Funding’s Executive Vice President Brian Grell is on the board of the Coin Laundry Association and is on the LaundyCares leadership team.

More than 200 families registered for the event. We completed 350 wash cycles with more than 16,000 lbs of free laundry. We could not have done it without the participation of over 60 volunteers from across the country, host Laundry City and the many vendors who generously donated gifts and giveaways. A big thank you to everyone.” commented Grell.

See the video below for local TV coverage of the event.
