Dr. Alan Beaulieu, president of ITR Economics, offered a bright outlook on the economy and the laundry industry. Pointing to growth signals in employment, manufacturing and service sectors as well as the upward pressure on personal income, Dr. Beaulieu painted a picture of positive economic growth through 2018. He encouraged laundry owners to pay closer attention to their costs and to take advantage of opportunities now.

Author Paul Taylor focused on the changing demographics of the country, including the power of Millennials and the impact of Social Security as waves of baby boomers retire.

Tim Greiner, whose business enterprise helps large companies focus on and improve sustainability practices, spoke about the need to reduce risks, increase productivity and boost growth. His session included an exercise in which attendees worked to come up with sustainability suggestions that may benefit the laundry industry.
