Free laundry day in New York on Aug. 31

For four hours, visitors will be able to use the state-of-the-art washers and dryers free of charge.

On Aug. 31, Laundry Depot in Bay Shore, New York, will offer a free laundry event, sponsored by Eastern Funding, the Coin Laundry Association and the LaundryCares Foundation. Between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m., visitors will be able to use state-of-the-art washers and dryers free of charge at the newly renovated 9200 SF laundromat, located at 1639 Fifth Avenue on Long Island.

Additionally, there will be local vendors to provide food and snacks, family entertainment and a local radio station playing music. Guests will receive gift bags, and there will be a raffle of items such as bicycles and gift cards.

The newly refurbished Laundry Depot has more than 120 washers and over 150 dryers for guests to use.

This is the sixth year the LaundryCares Foundation has offered a free laundry day. The foundation focuses on giving back to communities with the charity of free laundry, which is so valuable to many people.
