Eastern Funding Executive Runs Marathon for American Cancer Society
Eastern Funding President Michael Fanger began financing small businesses with a firm belief that helping entrepreneurs succeed meant communities would thrive. For over 14 years, Eastern Funding has helped laundry, dry cleaning, and grocery store operators grow successful businesses across the United States
On November 21, 2010, Nancy Robles-Guess, Eastern Funding’s Vice President of Loan Processing, followed in her company’s generous footsteps when she joined 20,000 runners and took to the streets to compete in the 2010 Philadelphia Marathon, a 26.2 mile foot race that raises awareness for the American Cancer Society. Robles-Guess collected over $3,200 in donations.
Training for the big day was not a simple task for Robles-Guess. She, with the motivation of her supportive husband and four children, trained for the Philadelphia Marathon by running 700 miles in 16 weeks. Robles-Guess successfully finished the marathon in 5 hours.
“Training under the frigid conditions was tough, but there are cancer survivors out there who have a much tougher fight,” added Robles-Guess. “Every morning when we wake up to run, as difficult as it is sometimes, we are thankful and do it knowing that we can help save someone’s life.”
Nancy Robles-Guess has been with Eastern since 2005 and manages the credit and approval process for the company while maintaining supervisory roles over Eastern’s documentation and funding departments. She has more than 12 years of experience in commercial equipment and small business financing.
